What Thranduil did not know was that upon reaching a certain age, members of the royal family with magical powers were exiled and were only allowed to return when they completely mastered their magic. All the lords of the seven kingdoms attended the celebration and Thranduil was no exception. Thranduil couldn't help but attend, he felt a very deep wound and that desire to see her again burned him.
