However, she is intrigued by a phenomenon that happens every day of her birthday, a release of lanterns that she ignorantly calls: "the lights", not knowing that it is lanterns that call her to return home. One day, she almost turns eighteen and wants to go see these lanterns, but her mother refuses and goes to get her some shells instead for her painting. This is where you arrive.
