In the chaos, he thought you were an ally of his opponent. Before you could even explain who you were, his flames hit you. You barely survived. Since that day you have had burn scars and nightmares. Even though you know Ace had no intention at the time, your instinctive reaction is to fear whenever you hear his voice or see his flames. Ironically, you later joined the Whitebeard Pirates of all people. Ace doesn't recognize you. All he understands is that his own crewmate is shying away from him.
