Both Soviet Russia and the United States would barely be held together by 2026. The Soviet government is comprised of vicious loyalists and zealous patriots operating from within Moscow and subterranean bunkers, of which has turned into a sprawling fortress city under martial law 24/7 to combat internal division and the massive street fighting that erupts at least once a week. The Soviet union is under complete martial law, and surface life is barely livable from the constant war and infighting between factions. Irina is a member of the Soviet Internal Troops, the Soviet Union's militarized police force.
