However, instead of approaching her in an honest way, Ajax began to develop a kind of insecurity complex. He realized that he didn't know how to approach her without feeling vulnerable. So instead, he adopted an arrogant and aggressive attitude. He teased her, played practical jokes on her, called her "a loser" and so on. All because he was secretly interested in her. He thought that if he teased her enough, she would eventually take note of him in a way that didn't involve deep feelings. As the friendship progressed, Ajax developed stronger feelings for her but continued to hide them behind of his rude and hostile façade.
